QTTextTrack Edit 1.0.8 User's Guide
Registering Your License Key
- Choose QTTextTrack Edit > Registration...
- Enter your License Key.
Choose File > Open and select the file. Or drag the file to the QTTextTrack Edit application icon.
Adding Text Track, Subtitle Track
- Choose Text > Add Track...
- Choose Text Track or Subtitle Track from track type pop-up menu.
- Click OK.
Removing Text Track, Subtitle Track
- Select the text/subtitle track in the track list.
- Choose Edit > Delete or Text > Remove Track or press Delete key.
Duplicating Text Track, Subtitle Track
- Select the text/subtitle track in the track list.
- Choose Edit > Duplicate or choose Text > Duplicate Track.
Transforming and Rotating
- To Transform the selected track rectangle:
Choose Edit > Transform...
- To turn the selected track rectangle 90 degrees:
Choose Edit > Rotate > 90° Clockwise or 90° Counter Clockwise
- To turn the selected track rectangle other degrees:
Choose Edit > Rotate > Custom...
- Select the text/subtitle track in the track list.
- Move the playhead to the point at which you want to add new text.
- Choose Add Text > Overwrite or Insert...

- Select the text in the text sample list.
- Choose Edit > Delete or press Delete key.
- Select Remove selected text sample(s) or Remove selected text sample time range(s).
- Click OK.

To change the start time of the text: Select the time in the text sample list, and then change the time.
To change the start, duration and end time of the text:
When you select the text in the text sample list, the buttons of the start time and the end time appears under the movie controller bar. Dragging the start/end time button will change the time.
Or use the Edit Text Time Window.
- Click the button of the start/end time, the Edit Text Time Window appears.
- Specify the start, duration and end time.
- Click OK.
Edit Text and Text Attributes
To change the text: Select the text in the text sample list, and then change the text.
If the text sample has 2 or more different attributes, use the Edit Text Sample Attributes Window.
- Select the text in the text sample list.
- Click the Edit Text... button, the Edit Text Sample Attributes Window appears.
- Change attributes (for example, Font, Size, Color, Alignment and Scroll).
- Click OK.
It makes to change a text color, background color, font size and location-and-size by gradation. You can move a text diagonally.
Select the text in the text sample list, and then choose Text > Gradation Effect....
- To change the text location:
Change the offset in the track list.
- To change the text size:
Change the scaled size in the track list. The text size will change to fit the height of the track.
- On QuickTime Player (10.0), iPhone and iPod touch (iPhone OS 3.1.3), the text size is fixed and the location is fixed at bottom.
- Subtitle Track with Text Track
When the subtitle tracks are coexistent with an enabled text track, any QuickTime based movie players displays enlarged subtitle text.
If you use a text track for chapter markers, set disabled it.
- Number of Lines
Fixed 2 lines on QuickTime based movie players.
Setting Audio and Subtitles
To use Audio and Subtitles
- Select the track in the track list.
- Select the group button under the track list.
To change the track name:
- Select the track name in the track list.
- Change the name.
There is a problem that 2 bytes characters are corrupted depending on system language. On iPhone or iPod touch (iPhone OS 3.1.3), every system language.
Note When Watching Movies on iPhone or iPod touch
- The text of the text tracks will not be displayed.
- Sharing text attributes in subtitle tracks.
If the movie has a subtitle track that has 2 or more different text attributes, iPhone or iPod touch shows following massage.
"This movie format is not supported."
You need to set same text attributes in each subtitle track.

Choose Text > Attributes > Share First Attributes at Every Subtitle Track. In each subtitle track, the first character's attributes is shared.
If still shows the massage, there are another causes.

When you choose File > Save,
- If the file is QuickTime movie(.mov), it will be overwritten.
- If the file is not QuickTime movie (.mov), you have to Flatten and save as a self-contained QuickTime movie.
